Mark Canby
Mark Canby is a seasoned collision repair industry professional and consultant with decades of experience running successful auto-body businesses. He owned and operated Canby Motors Collision Repair in Maryland, a well-established three-location operation serving the Baltimore, Bel Air, and Aberdeen communities with roots in the region going back over 60 years.
Marketing and Management were Mark’s specialty.
The catch phrases “Your Car CANBY New Again” and “We Fixed Abe’s Lincoln” were used in marketing strategies. A jingle was produced and was highly recognizable. The song was often sung by the public when the Canby Motors Collision Repair logo was noticeable on company apparel worn by employees or customers. This music and lyrics are still in the memory of the public even after over 3 years of the sale of the company. The acquisition of the company included the trademarked phrases and the retention of the company name.
Under Mark’s leadership, Canby Motors became known for high-quality repairs, customer service, and community trust. The company has consistently delivered dependable, OEM-aligned results for vehicle owners. Loyalty spans across generations. Customers regularly praise the shop for efficient turnarounds and superior quality craftsmanship.
Today, Mark brings that shop-owner perspective and real-world experience to Collision Management Consultants (CMC). His focus is to pass on industry-proven collision repair facility performance to increase PROFIT THROUGH PRECISION.

Mike began his career as a painter’s helper in 1972. He was promoted to lead painter a relatively short while later.
When the opportunity presented itself, Mike decided to pursue the supply end of the industry. He was selling paint, related supplies, and hard parts, expanding his expertise beyond the shop floor.
After more than 20 years of growth in this aspect of the industry, Mike could no longer ignore the desire to start his own business. Having established well-respected relationships with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers, he was encouraged to form an agency representing manufacturers’ product lines.
Advanced Collision Concepts was launched over 30 years ago and was sold in 2023. During these three decades, he built lasting connections with even more shop owners, technicians, suppliers, and manufacturers—strengthening his influence and reputation throughout the industry.
Additionally, the educational facet of this industry has always been a priority. Mike was not only motivated to have extensive knowledge of the products he represented, but also a deep understanding of the performance and cost of competing products. He hosted hands-on training sessions at repair facilities across several states.
Mike brings unprecedented experience to this seminar and consulting event.
